Letter to all academic staff in Aston Business School

Submitted by ruberya on Wed, 02/21/2018 - 10:07

To all academic staff in ABS,

We are writing to advise you that UCU are in possession of the email sent out yesterday by Professor Feiger concerning  attendance at work on campus  containing an attachment with a draft “guidance note” that has not been discussed with UCU. We want to advise you that the branch have taken this matter up at appropriate level within the University and have advised our Regional Office of the contents of this email.

For the avoidance of any doubt, any UCU member who takes part in the industrial action planned for the next 5 working days and beyond should disregard this email as you are not obliged to notify management in advance of your intention to take industrial action. We look forward to seeing you on the picket lines tomorrow morning.

For those of you who are not yet members of UCU, this is a prime example of why  you should be protected in the work place by a recognised trade union who will stand up for your rights and protect your contract of employment, your terms and conditions and provide you with personal representation when needed. It takes less than 5 minutes to join UCU nationally by visiting the website. We look forward to being of service to you.

Best Regards,
 Aston UCU Committee.
