Harmonisation of terms and conditions of employment

We are being asked to vote on Aston University's proposals for the Harmonisation of Terms and Conditions of Employment. These proposals have been arrived at after protracted negotiations between the 3 campus unions (UCU, UNITE, GMB) and the University. They are the best offer that could be achieved through negotiation.

November 10th NUS-UCU Demonstration

This is the latest information that Regional UCU at Regional has about coaches from the
West Midlands to the NUS-UCU demo on Wednesday 10 November. Please encourage as many
members as possible to take up the seats that are available.

Aston UCU Branch AGM, TUESDAY 2ND NOVEMBER 2010 MB549

The AGM of the Aston Branch of UCU. will take place on TUESDAY 2nd NOVEMBER  2010 in MB549 between 1.00pm and 1.50pm. Please make every effort to attend because it is essential we have a strong branch at a time when pensions, working conditions, pay and job security are under threat for us all.

Protest and conference against cuts

UCU are supporting the following events.

1) Demonstration to protest at the  spending review from 5.00 to 6.45 on Wednesday October 20th outside the  Government Office for the West Midlands, 5 St Phillips Place, off Colmore  Row.

2) Conference against cuts on Saturday October 23rd with Tony Benn, John Hendy QC and Chris Baugh from PCS speaking plus workshops;

Both events from 10am to  4pm at the Council House, Victoria Sq
